Material Planning Specialist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess MRP needs and recommend optimal supply strategies for the organization.
  • Organize job schedules based on business demands, utilizing MRP while considering production timelines and procurement durations.
  • Identify and manage long lead time components to alleviate potential production bottlenecks.
  • Develop and execute material planning strategies for all electrical components.
  • Compile procurement data packages in collaboration with project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Oversee and support the management of external suppliers in the assembly of electrical products.
  • Recognize and expedite critical components throughout the supply chain.
  • Confirm availability of resources (materials, equipment) necessary for production, ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained.
  • Swiftly address and resolve production challenges to minimize delays.
  • Monitor and implement necessary adjustments to production schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Promptly notify relevant departments of any changes impacting current production timelines (including design modifications).
  • Engage in the development and enhancement of an improved ERP system.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma (preferred) or relevant experience in supply chain and production settings, particularly as a production planner or in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning.
  • Possession of personal transportation is required.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications is essential.
  • Strong understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP software.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
