Job Summary

Service Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Retail Operations team. As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of our accounting function, including reconciliations, cost allocation, and finance process management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting
    • Manage and oversee finance processes, including Petty Cash, Cash to Bank, and Card to Bank.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations for the Retail business sector on SAP.
    • Allocate costs to the correct general ledger expense accounts.
  • Relationship Building
    • Build and maintain sound business relationships with fellow finance teams, other departments, and senior management.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd parties, including SARS, auditors, and consultants.
  • Financial Analysis
    • Prepare monthly prepayments schedules and reconciliations.
    • Upload HSBC Bank Statements into SAP.
    • Post prepayment expenses and prepare a monthly prepayments schedule and reconciliations.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Prepare monthly Retail Reconciliations, including Cash to Bank, Card to Bank, EFT, Float, Netflorist, Mr D, Uber Eats, and Vendors.
    • Ensure SAP NNTS matches MICROS NNTS at all times.
    • Prepare Retail Turnover Certificates and send them out.
  • Financial Planning and Control
    • Take ownership of fixed assets, including depreciation, CAPEX reports, and fixed asset registers.
    • Manage prepayments, recurring journals, and display cost of goods sold.
    • Clear outgoing and incoming bank clearing accounts on a weekly basis.
  • Ad-Hoc Support
    • Assist the Finance Manager and Financial Accountant in forecasting, budgeting, and month-end reporting.
    • Support PWC at interim and year-end audit in accounts payable and operational expenditure.
    • Assist CFO, Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, Supply Chain Manager, and Planner with ad-hoc work.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a Financial Accounting environment.
  • BS diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong Excel skills and high numeracy with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in an International FMCG environment is advantageous.
  • Strong MS (Outlook, Excel, Word) skills and SAP experience is considered a distinctive advantage.
