About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Treasury Operations Manager to join our team in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the cash management and treasury functions for Groupe CFAO, ensuring effective liquidity management, risk mitigation, and financial optimisation.

  1. Cash and Liquidity Management:
    1. Develop and implement cash forecasting models to maintain liquidity.
    2. Monitor and optimise working capital requirements.
    3. Manage and oversee distribution and effective reconciling of credit, procurement and petty cash cards.
  2. Treasury Operations:
    1. Manage bank accounts, ensuring efficient banking relationships and minimising transaction costs.
    2. Implement and oversee internal controls for treasury processes.
    3. Ensure compliance with treasury policies and financial regulations.
  3. Shipping Operations:
    1. Oversee and manage Shipping Team, reviewing and approving Stock Costings, assessing variances between standard and actual costings for accuracy and reasonableness.
    2. Manage balance sheet accounts i.e. goods in transit, payment clearing accounts as well as creditors recons to ensure accuracy and timely reconciling and management of variances between supplier statement balances and balances per purchase ledger.
  4. Risk Management and Compliance:
    1. Identify and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and credit risks.
    2. Ensure timely and accurate management of forward exchange cover on all imports.
    3. Ensure compliance and timely arrangement of letters of credit when required.
  5. Investment and Funding Strategies:
    1. Evaluate and implement investment strategies for surplus cash.
    2. Manage debt financing arrangements and maintain compliance with loan covenants.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:
    1. Lead, mentor, and develop the Treasury and Cashbook team, ensuring high performance and career growth.
    2. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve team effectiveness.
  7. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    1. Prepare treasury reports, including cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, and financial risk assessments.
    2. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to support financial planning and reporting.
