Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering a comprehensive pro-active security service, liaising with clients and regional clients, and handling internal and external security queries. They will also ensure client satisfaction and retention, sustain growth and profitability, and increase and sustain the performance and productivity of all staff, sub-contractors, and sub-divisions.

  • Plan and manage security operations
  • Deliver effective team management
  • Manage finances
  • Manage personnel
  • Carry out dynamic security and safety risk assessments
  • Communicate effectively with the control room team and liaise with operational management teams
  • Maintain effective relationships with client staff, management, and contractors
  • Provide reports and recommend process improvements
  • Act as a focal point for security operations decision-making during routine and emergency situations
  • Adhere to compliance standards and relevant laws
  • Align with security service providers
  • Ensure allocation of responsible sites is up to date
  • Proactively liaise with the OCC NOC and assist with proactive interaction
  • Have security technical ability and background
  • Ensure compliance with the company's disciplinary code
  • Ensure all company SOPs are followed
  • Ensure training takes place as and when required
  • Be willing to work after hours and be on standby
  • Have a clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record
  • Have a Code 08 driver's license and own reliable transport
  • Have experience of implementing quality management standards
  • Have the ability to manage and deliver projects, draft and implement policies, and influence senior stakeholders
  • Have experience of working with control room systems
  • Have analytical and quality-focused skills, able to produce accurate management information
  • Have excellent presentation and IT skills
  • Be target and KPI-focused, yet able to deliver while maintaining employee engagement
  • Have excellent people and performance management skills, able to motivate, coach, develop, inspire, and identify training needs
  • Have experience of successfully leading teams to constantly achieve company objectives
  • Be able to communicate with all levels, from senior management to operational staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • PSIRA certification Grade A
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years operational management experience/exposure
  • Good Labour Relations skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Bilingual (English and any other South African language)
  • Good interpersonal and customer relations
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Willing to work extensive hours as and when required
  • Willing to work after hours and be on standby
