IT Operations Lead / Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Operations Lead / Manager to oversee the smooth operation of our computer systems, ensuring they meet the requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines of our business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the implementation and maintenance of our company's computing needs across multiple sites in South Africa.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of experience and a deep understanding of industry best practices in IT operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology Strategy: Develop and manage the technology strategy in alignment with the business strategy, ensuring it meets the company's goals and objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with external suppliers, ensuring they meet the company's requirements.
  • IT Operations: Oversee the planning, organization, control, and evaluation of IT and electronic data operations, ensuring they are efficient and effective.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work with internal stakeholders to leverage new technologies to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Business Continuity: Ensure that all areas of the business are operational, with a focus on business continuity and resilience.
  • Research and Development: Conduct ongoing research to improve the company's technological assets, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Department Management: Manage the efficiency of the IT department, ensuring the effective delivery of services and solutions.
  • Information Risk: Manage information risk to an acceptable level, based on the company's risk appetite and goals.
  • Security: Develop and direct all networking safeguards to reduce risks and apply effective protective mechanisms to secure sensitive internal and external information.
  • Security Posture: Align business information security requirements with the business and IT goals, supporting an effective security posture.
  • Network Infrastructure: Establish a highly available network infrastructure environment to address regulatory and business requirements.
  • Technology Platforms: Consolidate business technology platforms and create plans for each platform, ensuring they meet the company's needs.
  • Performance Metrics: Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics, ensuring they are aligned with the company's goals.
  • Standards and Communication: Establish technology standards and communicate technical information to the organization, ensuring everyone is aligned with the company's technology strategy.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an asset register and IT risk & issue register, ensuring the company's assets are properly managed and risks are mitigated.
  • Policy and Procedures: Create and implement the organization's IT policy and best practice standard operation processes and manuals, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Audits and Reports: Perform routine system audits and run routine system operations reports, sharing them with management to ensure the company is informed and aligned.
  • Team Management: Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance.
