About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Execustaff Recruiting Services. As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing automated systems for new and existing production machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement automated systems for production machinery, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
  • Budget and Capex Planning: Evaluate and estimate capital expenditures for new projects, track planned vs. actual expenditure, and engage with vendors for quotes.
  • Machine Conceptualization and Design: Conceptualize new machine designs, work with internal and external designers, propose concepts, and specify automation components.
  • System Design and Integration: Develop and design control systems for automated machinery, create detailed wiring schematics and diagrams, and ensure seamless integration with other engineering disciplines.
  • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting: Develop and implement PLC programs to control and monitor machinery, troubleshoot and debug PLC code as needed.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing of automated systems to ensure functionality and reliability, and commission systems for full-scale production.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical designs, schematics, and programming, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' minimum relative experience in designing and implementing automated systems.
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
  • Familiarity with electrical CAD software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • N Dip / B-tech Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering.

  • Experience with Siemens and Phoenix Contact PLC Next.
  • Project Management.
  • PLC Training Courses and Certification.
  • Automotive Industry Experience.
