As a Senior Financial Accountant at Communicate Recruitment, you will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing the monthly management account packs and evaluate the financial performance of the company.
  • Continuously strive to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information presented to stakeholders.
  • Compile a monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation file to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the implementation of systems for monthly reporting across various divisions, ensuring seamless data integration.
  • Analyze and identify incurred costs and compare them to budgets, providing insights for cost optimization.
  • Review reconciled expenditure reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all invoices are captured by debtors and creditors, maintaining a healthy cash flow.
  • Approve all payments processed by creditors, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
  • Ensure aging on supplier age analysis is correct after cashbook updates, maintaining a positive supplier relationship.
  • Perform weekly petty cash reconciliation to ensure accuracy and security.
  • Verify all electronic bank payments to prevent errors and discrepancies.
  • Perform periodic float checks at the cash desks to prevent losses.
  • Ensure refunds are being approved and processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain refunds timeously to prevent delays and customer dissatisfaction.
  • Provide training and guidance to the finance team, ensuring knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Compile the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation file, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform any additional ad-hoc tasks as required by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience in a similar position, with a strong background in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Hospitality, tourism, or property experience would be highly advantageous, demonstrating industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with a strong understanding of financial software and systems.
Qualifications:
  • PA(SA) or CA(SA) designation would be beneficial, demonstrating advanced accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Relevant Finance or Accounting degree, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification, demonstrating a solid foundation in mathematics and accounting.
