Industrial Millwright

A reputable automotive organization is seeking qualified and skilled candidates for the role of Industrial Millwright. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on various machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science
- Red Seal Millwright certification (Section 13)
- N4 Electro-Mechanical qualification
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy industry
- Familiarity with Siemens PLC systems
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduled Maintenance:
- Review maintenance schedules, interpret directives, and organize maintenance and repair tasks
- Examine tools and identify necessary spare parts and consumables
- Create job requisitions for scheduled maintenance tasks, detailing the type of work, required spares, quantities, and estimated time
- Transport tools, equipment, and spare parts to the designated work area
Breakdown Maintenance:
- Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns for all equipment under engineering control
- Keep the relevant personnel updated on repair progress
- Escalate issues to higher authority if not resolved
- Document all breakdown information to assist in root cause analysis
Mechanical Maintenance:
- Conduct routine maintenance checks
- Align machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and rectify faults in equipment during operation
- Commission and refurbish machinery and equipment
- Operate various machines including drilling, lathe, milling, and surface grinding machines
- Perform basic and MIG/TIG welding tasks
- Maintain mechanical systems including drives, seals, bearings, and pumps
Electrical Maintenance:
- Design and implement single and three-phase circuits
- Install and maintain electrical wiring systems
- Construct and troubleshoot low voltage networks
- Inspect and maintain electrical equipment and systems
- Conduct fault finding and repairs on electrical systems
Fabrication:
- Utilize powered machinery for cutting, drilling, and assembling materials
- Employ oxy-fuel gas cutting techniques
- Join metals using resistance welding methods
Instrumentation Maintenance:
- Construct basic electronic circuits
- Install instrumentation impulse lines
Project Involvement:
- Contribute to project initiation and scope definition
- Assist in budget estimation and monitoring
