Job Description:


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry, with a specific focus on structures and buildings. This role requires a professional who is technically proficient, able to manage projects independently and possesses a strong understanding of the civil engineering aspects of construction.



Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead and manage civil engineering projects, focusing on structural and building construction. Key responsibilities include:


  • Oversight of project planning, design, and implementation to ensure all civil engineering requirements are met.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant regulatory standards and codes, including SANS and OHS.
  • Preparation of detailed engineering designs, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Coordination with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
  • Supervision and mentorship of junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Management of budgets, resources, and project timelines to meet client expectations.
  • Performance of on-site inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaboration with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
  • Adherence to safety regulations and industry standards throughout the construction process.


Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:


  • A Professional Qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Registration with a relevant body such as ECSA or SACPCMP.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering within the construction industry, specifically in structures and buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
