The organization's Political and Programme Strategy Directorate is seeking a highly skilled Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL) & Research Officer to support the Combatting Modern Slavery project in Ethiopia and Ghana.

The MEL and Research Officer will play a crucial role in supporting effective planning, implementation, learning, and reporting on project activities at various levels. They will coordinate all MEL processes, manage data analysis, and provide administrative and technical programme support. In addition, they will engage with external stakeholders, consultants, and national project teams to ensure high standards of MEL and Research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing tools and systems for capturing and analyzing data to demonstrate project impact.
  • Organizing and delivering annual, midline, and endline reviews and evaluations to inform programme improvement and test key assumptions.
  • Supporting project progress towards targets, identifying risks to activity implementation and/or data collection, and working with the International Project Manager to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Coordinating with ActionAid Ghana, ActionAid Ethiopia, and ActionAid International to ensure high standards of MEL and Research throughout the project.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Social Research, International Development, or a related field, with experience in designing monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, Theory of Change, and MEL tools and processes. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methods, and fluency in written and spoken English are essential.
