Our client, a reputable accounting firm in the Helderberg region, seeks a skilled Corporate Governance Officer to join their team. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with senior management and clients to ensure seamless governance practices.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and recording statutory changes, registering companies and close corporations, and filing dividends tax returns. You will also conduct research on company legislation, provide comprehensive services for CIPC annual returns, and prepare beneficial ownership information. Additionally, you will identify and implement relevant statutory changes and prepare confirmation letters and B-BBEE affidavits.
Requirements
- A tertiary degree in law, business, finance, governance, or a related field;
- Professional registration with the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa or similar would be advantageous;
- At least two to three years of experience in company secretarial/corporate governance services, preferably in an audit-and-accounting firm environment;
- Experience working with boards of directors, senior management, and clients directly would be beneficial;
- Knowledge of the Companies Act;
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English;
- Excellent administration and interpersonal skills;
- Understanding of company secretarial software (e.g., Skysec or Greatsoft) would be advantageous.
