Position Overview

As a Solutions Architect at LexisNexis South Africa Shared Services (Pty) Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive architectural and structural designs tailored for our Legal & Professional business unit. Your expertise will be crucial in the ongoing enhancement, maintenance, and dissemination of technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between Global Architecture (Enterprise Architects) and the Engineering or Development teams
• Lead teams in resolving complex project challenges by identifying, researching, and coordinating necessary resources
• Translate findings into actionable alternatives and solutions, assessing risks and impacts to facilitate informed management decisions
• Guide the evolution of technical direction and architecture through reviews and hands-on leadership
• Monitor system performance and draft proposals to address negative trends
• Investigate industry advancements and forge partnerships to leverage and enhance our technical capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively to diverse audiences
• Strong understanding of programming languages, coding, and database management
• Expert-level proficiency in programming languages such as .Net, Java, HTML, Perl, C++, C#, PHP, etc.
• Familiarity with Parallel and Distributed Processing Systems, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, and Declarative Languages
• Solid knowledge of Network Design, Storage System Architecture, Service-Oriented Architecture technologies, or Parallel Processing Architectures
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
• Natural problem solver with a collaborative approach to issue resolution
