Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining payroll accounting duties, general ledger management, and supporting various finance and payroll-related activities, to ensure smooth operations and accurate reporting.

Accounting Duties:
  • Process and reconcile monthly payroll entries.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, coding invoices, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide commentary.
Financial Reporting:
  • Assist with month-end closing, balancing journals, and clearing GL accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc projects.
Audit Support:
  • Assist external Auditors with year-end audits.
  • Prepare year-end audit reports and reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (BCom) or related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll accounting, preferably in an FMCG or similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with Sage X3 ERP system is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, auditing, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Available to start immediately.
