Main Purpose of Job:

Overseeing the overall management of our Machine Shop and resources to ensure that production plans are successfully executed in support of our business objectives, including meeting sales order book targets.

We require a candidate with 10+ years of experience in production management, possessing relevant qualifications and technical product knowledge. Additionally, strong customer relationship and leadership skills are essential.

Required Education:

Metric / Relevant Trade / Operations Management / Industrial Engineering qualification is necessary, along with at least 10 years of experience in the field.

Post-School Qualifications:

Holding a relevant trade in Turning & Milling is highly advantageous, as well as experience with QMS systems (Rex / IRIS / ISO) and CNC programming knowledge (Siemens / Fanuc Controls / Akuma).

SAP Production Planning modules and Industrial Engineering expertise are also required. A good understanding, reading, and interpreting of drawings is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling: Plan and organise the production schedule to ensure optimal machine utilisation.
  • Production Overseeing: Monitor and oversee the production process to guarantee efficiency and quality.
  • Quality Control Standards: Determine and implement quality control standards to meet business requirements.
  • Liaison: Establish and maintain effective liaison with buyers and sales staff to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Project Assessment: Assess project and resource requirements to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Time Estimation: Estimate and negotiate time scales with internal clients and managers to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Schedule Adjustment: Re-negotiate time scales or schedules as necessary to accommodate changing business needs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Organise the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior staff members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Budget Control: Control budgets and costs relating to tooling and machine maintenance to optimise financial efficiency.
  • Target Achievement: Adhere to production and scrap rate targets to drive business growth.
  • Staff Development: Educate staff on 5 S principles and ensure all staff members receive training and updates on Fleximatrix.
  • Sales Target Achievement: Ensure monthly sales targets are met through effective production scheduling.

Management of Surface Treatment Plant:

We require a skilled professional who can effectively manage our Surface Treatment Plant, ensuring it operates efficiently and safely.

Accountabilities:
