Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support our financial operations and drive business growth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Junior Team Members: You will provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members, helping them develop their skills and expertise.
  • Interrogating Current Practices: You will analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement, with a focus on implementing efficient technologies.
  • Requesting Information: You will gather information from clients and other sources as required.
  • Monthly Financial Accounting Services: You will be responsible for taking charge of monthly financial accounting services.
  • Reconciliations and Financial Statements: You will prepare reconciliations of financial statement line items and compile financial statements.
  • Accounting Treatments: You will propose appropriate accounting treatments in line with applicable financial reporting standards.
  • Tax Calculations: You will calculate provisional and annual income tax.
  • VAT Reconciliation: You will reconcile and submit input/output VAT.
  • Reviewing Work: You will review work performed by junior team members, identifying errors and proposing remedies.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (SA) Registration: You must be eligible to register as a Chartered Accountant (SA) or already be registered.
  • Accounting Qualifications: You must hold a B.Com Degree or equivalent Accounting Degree, completed SAIPA or SAICA articles, and have at least 3 years' relevant post-article experience.
  • Language Skills: You must be proficient in Afrikaans and English.
  • Software Proficiency: You must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Xero.

Remuneration: The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of R20,000 - R32,000 per month.
