Accountant (Tax & Financial Statement Focus)

An esteemed accounting firm in Knysna is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their team. This role will be focused on assisting clients with compilations of financial statements and/or independent reviews of financial statements and income tax calculations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive trial balance and supporting documents from clients
  • Compile annual financial statements for companies and CCs based on IFRS for SMEs using Draftworx
  • Understand trusts and compile trust annual financial statements
  • Full-function accounting knowledge
  • Calculate and submit VAT returns
  • Knowledge of payroll and submission of EMP201s & EMP501s
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Previous working experience in an accounting firm
  • BCOM degree
  • Computer literate on Draftworx & Xero
  • Experience in Greatsoft to process and manage all tax returns and keep records of time
Candidate Skills:
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Great communication skills (Afrikaans & English)
  • Great time management & self-discipline
  • Driver's license
  • Excellent planning & forecasting mindset
Salary:

R20k - R35k
