Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

WatersEdge Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Network Engineer with a strong background in Cisco, Fortinet, and Aruba technologies to design, implement, and manage complex network solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-performance networks, ensuring security, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network solutions using Cisco, Fortinet, and Aruba technologies.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects.
  • Implement and maintain advanced security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring the network infrastructure is secure and compliant with organisational policies.
  • Provide 3rd level support and troubleshooting for network incidents.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to resolve complex network problems and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Proactively monitor network performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Maintain up-to-date network documentation and generate regular performance reports.
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years of proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a strong focus on Cisco, Fortinet, and Aruba technologies.
  • Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • In-depth experience with Fortinet firewall systems and security solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Aruba wireless technologies, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.) and advanced routing and switching.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities, particularly in guiding junior engineers.
