Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Designer to join our team at HR Genie. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems for special purpose machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical control systems for special purpose machines
  • Develop pneumatic designs and panel layouts
  • Specify, calculate, and rate control hardware
  • Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses of control systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical design teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Determine cable and pipe routing and allocate space accordingly
  • Guide electrical assembly staff to ensure accurate implementation
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide expert input
Requirements
  • Formal tertiary education in Electrical Engineering
  • Driver's license (Code 8)
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
  • Experience in electrical panel building, field wiring, and fault finding
  • Knowledge of Eplan and electrical control hardware
  • Working knowledge of Fluid Draw or other pneumatic packages
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in control system design and development
  • Knowledge of electrical control hardware and systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide expert input
