Job Title: Electrical Designer

At HR Genie, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Designer to join our team. As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems for special purpose machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical control systems for special purpose machines
  • Develop pneumatic designs and panel layouts
  • Specify, calculate, and rate all control hardware
  • Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses of control systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical design teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Determine cable and pipe routing and allocate space accordingly
  • Guide electrical assembly staff to ensure accurate implementation of designs
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide expert advice
Requirements:
  • Formal tertiary education in Electrical Engineering
  • Driver's license (Code 8)
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
  • Extensive experience in electrical panel building, field wiring, and fault finding
  • Knowledge of electrical control hardware and pneumatic systems
  • Working knowledge of Eplan and MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Fluid Draw or other pneumatic packages
  • Knowledge of electrical control hardware, including Power Supplies, PLC, Sensors, Actuators, IO Devices, Printers, Scanners, IPC, Valves, Cables, Motor & Drive Systems, Plugs Bus Systems & Hardware
