Finance Analyst (Projects)

Takealot, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst (Projects) to join our team in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into current end-to-end processes to comprehend financial interactions and propose strategic enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation through review and redesign of existing processes.
  • Automate existing processes, drive technological improvements, and build future-fit efficiencies around cost optimization.
  • Meticulously document business processes, pinpointing and implementing improvements by understanding interdependencies, system intricacies, and potential automation risks within the finance framework.
  • Spearhead and contribute to projects aimed at advancing finance/business processes, serving as the finance team's lead representative.
  • Forge strong partnerships with IT, Tech, Product, and BI departments to ensure delivery of finance projects.
  • Gain a deep understanding of data points and data flow throughout the business that affect the accuracy, completeness, and validity of financial reporting.
  • Facilitate the building of BI reports through working with the BI team to include relevant data points within the correct cubes for reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A BCom or equivalent tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a finance/BI role.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and analysis gained through practical experience.
  • Experience in E-Commerce, Retail, or Tech industries is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with systems like TM1, Looker, Sage, and Board is beneficial.
