Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team at You Choose Recruit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our motor industry clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and process month-end and year-end journals, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Verify and ensure the correctness of the trial balance and general ledger, including journals, corrections, provisions, and accruals.
  • Prepare and review monthly general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and control accounts payable, including capturing invoices, preparing reconciliations, and making payments.
  • Review and verify monthly cashbook, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee the credit control function, including collection of outstanding debtors and internal and external correspondence.
  • Compile and analyze accounting trends, preparing statistical variance reports.
  • Prepare quarterly submissions for business analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and external audits.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required by senior management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a financial management role.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, GRAP, IFRS, and accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present and display sound judgment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
