The Technical Consultant role at Red Ember involves delivering exceptional technical expertise to support the implementation and maintenance of Sage 300 People, Premier, and ESS solutions across multiple environments.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with project managers, payroll and HR consultants, reporting and integration specialists, sales teams, and customer project and IT teams to provide tailored solutions that meet clients' needs within scope and budget.

You will be responsible for designing, setting up, configuring, customizing, testing, delivering, documenting, and transitioning solutions to ensure seamless customer support. This includes leading or participating in design sessions and workshops, contributing to project meetings, and sharing knowledge with various stakeholders.

We are looking for a skilled professional with a passion for learning and self-improvement who can mentor other consultants and assist with training both internally and for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and Maintain Sage 300 People, Premier, and ESS Solutions
  • Assist with upgrades and migrations on various Sage products
  • Monitor hosting environments and collaborate with hosting service providers to troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with client SLAs
  • Provision and maintain databases and application systems
  • Provide technical support and assistance to internal and external customers
  • Servicing monthly technical SLA customers
  • Participating in technical and requirement-gathering meetings and calls
  • Supporting resolution of complex issues during project meetings
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for complex designs
  • Analyzing technical feasibility and proposing deployment solutions to meet client requirements
  • Creating and sharing best practice recommendations with customers to optimize software use
  • Performing technical and security reviews and advising on remediation actions
  • Developing knowledge-sharing initiatives to upskill customers and colleagues
  • Providing telephonic and email support for Sage VIP applications
  • Case logging and tracking, including follow-up with clients regarding query progress and potential resolution times
  • Staying up-to-date with relevant Sage 300 People and Premier ESS product-based certification
  • Growing the hosting business and assisting with migration to a cloud hosting strategy (Azure)
  • Maintaining test environments with the IT Service Provider
  • Collaborating with Integration & Reporting & Analytics Teams to deploy solutions and troubleshoot issues
  • Regularly communicating and providing feedback to users regarding their problems
  • Submitting complete, diligent, and up-to-date administrative tasks, time sheets, and reports on schedule

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent preferred
  • Certification in Sage 300 People
  • Certification in Sage Premier
  • Experience deploying and supporting Sage 300 People ESS and Sage Self-Service (Premier)
  • Experience managing hosted customer applications (physical servers and Azure)
  • Client consulting experience
  • Knowledge of payroll and/or HR, preferred but not essential
  • Equivalent IT skills qualifications (MSCA, Cisco, etc.)

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
