About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Sustainability Specialist to join our Strategy and Advisory team based in Cape Town, South Africa. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in achieving their sustainability goals.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy and sustainability, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in carbon emissions accounting and modeling. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality consultancy projects within tight deadlines, managing project tasks independently, and guiding junior team members.

You will also be required to have excellent Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. A degree in a relevant field, such as civil engineering or sustainable development, is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project tasks independently and build towards client-facing roles
  • Deliver consultancy projects to high quality standards within tight deadlines
  • Guide junior team members within the project team
  • Ad-hoc analytical and research work for the division
  • Client-facing and maintain high levels of client satisfaction
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant subject (civil engineering, general engineering, energy, sustainable development, etc.)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in renewable energy and sustainability
  • Carbon emissions accounting & modeling experience using GHG Protocol or other methodologies
  • Built Environment Decarbonisation knowledge and awareness of sustainable materials used in construction and circularity, energy & water efficiency measures
  • Life cycle analysis and One Click LCA experience
  • ESG / GRI knowledge and reporting is an added value
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
