Job Title: Infrastructure Foreman

This role is perfect for someone who embodies adaptability and flexibility. At ikeja, we're seeking individuals who can effectively lead and maintain projects, prioritizing safety on the job site while demonstrating a strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols within the telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting regular site visits to communication towers in Gauteng to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Attending meetings with landlords to discuss site maintenance and upgrades.
  • Performing monthly electricity meter readings on all towers and communicating findings to the Finance team.
  • Ensuring regular maintenance and cleaning activities at tower sites to prevent equipment failure and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilizing applications for efficient site monitoring and data analysis.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in addressing rust on steel and implementing preventive measures to extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Managing cabling work on towers and conducting essential cable testing to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Building and maintaining network cabinets to support the growth of our telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of main tower structures to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Setting up and aligning point-to-point links to ensure seamless network connectivity.
  • Proactively monitoring network sectors to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Managing and maintaining links and sectors to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Conducting tower climbs for maintenance purposes to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Aligning tower components, including sectors and rockets, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Assisting in surveys for potential new sites to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Managing quality control at all site operations to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Ensuring that all teams are health and safety compliant, including monitoring certifications and ensuring they remain valid.
  • Daily management and organization of tools and equipment to ensure efficient site operations.
  • Responsible for budget management for allocated expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Effective communication with landlords, customers, and suppliers as required to ensure smooth site operations.
Requirements:
  • Matric certificate.
  • Working on Heights certificate (advantageous).
Experience:
  • 2-3 years in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in electrical and solar wiring.
  • Comfortable with working from heights.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge in working on communication mast.
  • Knowledge in drafting and creating safety files (advantageous).
Other requirements:
  • Must have a driver's license, valid for at least 1 year.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous safety awareness and exposure.
  • Technical skills relevant to telecommunications.
