Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced High School Social Sciences and Geography Educator to join our team at SPARK Blue Downs High.
As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in driving student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behaviour, and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Plan and deliver engaging face-to-face and online lessons, developing rigorous and inquiry-based curriculum content for our students.
- Collaboration and Professional Development: Work closely with grade-level and content-area partners to develop and implement high-quality individualised behaviour and learning plans.
- Assessment and Data Analysis: Develop and administer formative and termly assessments to track student progress, analysing data to inform instruction and drive student growth.
- Scholar Support: Lead scholar social and emotional development through character quotient sessions and reflections, providing targeted support to low-performing scholars and extending high-performing scholars.
- Programme Implementation: Plan, deliver, and monitor programmes to support scholar success, including place-based education and career and tertiary pathways education.
- Culture and Behaviour Management: Develop and implement SPARK culture and behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders, promoting the vision and mission of SPARK Schools.
Requirements
- Qualifications: B.Ed or PGCE degree in Social Sciences/Geography - SP and FET Phase.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a High School context.
- Registration: SACE registration.
- Criminal Record: Clear/Clean criminal record.

- Remuneration: R25,500.00 per month (cost to company).
