HR Practitioner Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Practitioner to join our team at Silk Road Consulting (Pty) Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our packing operation, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures, and driving business outcomes through people management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult and partner with managers and employees to drive people management strategies and influence their thinking.
  • Manage industrial relations, disciplinary, incapacity, grievance policies, procedures, employment equity, and training initiatives in a unionized environment.
  • Represent the business unit at the CCMA, up to arbitration.
  • Recruit, select, and onboard all employees, including packhouse staff.
  • Partner with the L&D team to facilitate relevant training and development initiatives for packhouse staff.
  • Drive relevant HR project work and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and audit processes.
  • Be accountable for HR data analysis and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Human Resources degree or related qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources within a unionized operational environment, preferably in an agricultural setting.
  • Ability to speak Xhosa, Zulu, or Sotho will be an advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EE, OHSA, WSP, ART reporting, and BBBEE.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve using a collaborative approach with various work functions and cultures.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality for sensitive HR issues or projects and use judgment and decision-making to execute duties and responsibilities.
  • Analytical problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to produce detailed, oriented work of high quality and accuracy.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
  • Own vehicle and valid driver's license, with travel between operational units required.
  • Stress management and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
