Main Purpose of Job

The primary objective of this role is to provide technical expertise and diagnostic support within the service department, ensuring that colleagues receive guidance on best practices for repairs and improvements as per customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform repairs and diagnostic work in a timely manner as instructed.
  • To offer advice and support to colleagues on technical matters.
  • To ensure the correct use of diagnostic equipment for vehicle examinations.
  • To maintain servicing of trucks within the targeted percentages of the manufacturers' time.
  • To ensure high standards of truck care and safety while performing duties.
  • To ensure trucks are returned to customers in a neat and clean condition.
  • To ensure diagnosis leads to the most cost-effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint.
  • To accurately complete job cards and additional information on trucks before handing the job card to the Service Advisor.
Requirements
  • Diesel Mechanic Trade Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a diesel technician in a dealership/workshop environment.
  • Valid Driver's License – Code 14.
  • Experience with UD and Volvo Trucks would be beneficial.
  • Medically fit to work on trucks.
  • Clear criminal record.
