About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Safety and Security to join our team at Belmond. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Management: Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Security Operations: Oversee the implementation of security protocols and procedures to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the hotel and its stakeholders.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure a swift and effective response to security incidents.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to employees to enhance their safety and security knowledge and skills.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to safety and security.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration on safety and security matters.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Education: Relevant management or field-related diploma or degree.
  • Skills: Excellent working knowledge of security protocols and procedures, health and safety regulations, and emergency response planning.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
