The successful candidate will be responsible for providing provincial and national customers with a demand forecast and cash up, on a short, medium, and long-term basis, to support business decisions and improve medicine availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Preparation and Analysis: Acquire, cleanse, and validate data from Provincial and National medicine procurement systems, and engage with Provincial stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.
  • Forecast Development: Develop base statistical forecasts, ensure correct setup and model hierarchy, and select the appropriate forecasting model.
  • Demand Plan Enrichment: Engage with programme teams, clinical teams, and stakeholders to validate and source additional insights for enrichment purposes, and incorporate data into baseline forecasts.
  • Cash Up and Budgeting: Collate current costs, cash up forecasts using forecasting tools, measure against approved budgets, and monitor Provincial demand plans versus budget.
  • Demand Review: Compile demand plan reports, publish to stakeholders, handle Provincial demand-specific queries, and provide training and support to Provincial demand planning champions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a three-year bachelor's degree or national diploma in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification.
  • At least three years' experience in Demand and/or Supply Planning in a public or private sector.
  • Exposure to the pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
  • General Supply Chain Management knowledge, good understanding of big data techniques, and familiarity with relevant legislation.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, leadership and problem-solving skills, and good communication and interpersonal skills.
