The role of the Academic Discipline Specialist will include being a Grade 6 class teacher, responsible for the academic and pastoral development of their students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine commitment to the school's extra-mural programme and have excellent administrative skills when planning and reporting.

The required skills and qualifications for this position include:

  • 3+ years' experience in teaching Intermediate Phase
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • SACE Registered

The responsibilities of the Academic Discipline Specialist will include:

  • Be committed to a very high standard of teaching and learning
  • Be experienced in differentiated teaching to best accommodate a variety of learning needs and styles within the classroom
  • Be prepared to use innovative approaches to deliver age-appropriate lessons that are stimulating and boy-centred
  • Have an understanding of Inquiry Based Learning
  • Be prepared to take responsibility for the academic and pastoral development of their class, using appropriate interventions where required
  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to the school's extra-mural programme (For example: extra-curricular clubs and sport across the school)
  • Show excellent administrative skills when planning and reporting
  • Be committed to working as part of a dynamic team
  • Have the ability to work alongside parents in the best interest of the boys in the class
