About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronic Process Support Technician to join our team in Somerset West. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and improving industrialisation and production processes in an efficient, pro-active, and synergistic manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementation of manufacturing technologies, equipment, and processes into production.
  • Setup and maintenance of equipment, including SMT placement, laser marking, depanelling, and AOI machines for all products to be assembled.
  • Training of production staff on the use of assembly fixtures and equipment.
  • Improvement of process and product quality failure.
  • Assistance with the introduction of new products into production, particularly the design and implementation of manufacturing processes in line with industrial requirements and project objectives.
  • Engineering support to the production team.
  • Participation in PFMEA and development of control plans for new and existing equipment and processes.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment supporting the manufacture of high-reliability electronic products.
  • Able to interpret mechanical and electronic drawings.
  • Appreciation and experience of ISO 9001 requirements.
Desirable Skills
  • Industrial Engineering experience or knowledge.
  • Mechanical Design experience or knowledge.
  • Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of satellite subsystems and the space environment.
  • Experience with ECSS product development and environmental testing standards.
  • Cleanroom, ESD, and optical assembly environment.
