Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a post-matric qualification in accounting, as well as articles, and 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.

We are looking for an individual who is proficient in organizational and prioritization skills, has initiative and great problem-solving abilities, and can effectively manage and monitor others.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of financial information and reporting used within the group for optimal decision-making and to support other business functions with information and advice on business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and investigate discrepancies and variances.
  • Reconcile and sign off on all bank accounts monthly.
  • Maintain general ledger chart of accounts on Evolution.
  • Process recurring and non-recurring general ledger journals.
  • Review recurring and non-recurring general ledger journals processed by the Group Financial Manager.
  • Manage the accuracy, completeness, and validity of the fixed asset register.
  • Monitor and maintain the capital expenditure reconciliation and records.
Taxation Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of taxation requirements.
  • Calculate and reconcile the monthly EMP201 for all Group companies.
  • Calculate and reconcile the monthly VAT201 for all Group companies.
  • Complete annual corporate income tax return for all Group companies based on the audited corporate income tax calculation.
  • Reconcile and submit the bi-annual EMP501 for all Group companies.
Treasury Responsibilities
  • Ensure adequate cashflow for the Group through overseeing the weekly, monthly, and ad hoc payment process and managing the cashflow between Group bank accounts.
  • Ensure accuracy and validity of supplier details on the electronic banking systems.
  • Review and approve the weekly, monthly, and ad hoc local currency payment run for all Group entities.
  • Review and capture all new and amended beneficiary bank details.
  • Verify the VAT number of new beneficiaries.
  • Verify the bank account of new and amended beneficiaries.
  • Communicate the cashflow position of the Group to the Group Financial Manager and Managing Director on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with the banks when required.
