Job Title: Director of Engineering




Job Summary:




We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to join our team at Autocar, LLC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and managing the direction and daily activities of our Engineering team.




Key Responsibilities:




* Lead and mentor the Engineering Organization, providing technical leadership and direction to engineers and program teams.




* Develop robust product concepts, design for manufacturability, and optimal component cost.




* Oversee process improvements to the product development process and lead the development of reporting managers and others in the department.




* Interact with all levels of company management, including operations, purchasing, quality control, sales, marketing, and finance.




* Work closely with key suppliers and customers to ensure the development of robust and cost-effective vehicle products.




Requirements:




* A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering is required. A Master's degree in Engineering management is preferred.




* 15+ years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years proven track record of leading and mentoring a team.




* Willingness to relocate to the USA and travel overseas for variable periods.




* South African Citizenship.
