Chief Technology Officer

We seek a talented Chief Technology Officer to join our team and lead the delivery of innovative technology solutions.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing our technology strategy, driving digital transformation, and ensuring the effective use of technology across our organisation.
  • They will bring together and coordinate the functional experts and activities of the IT and Support, Technology and Networks, and Systems departments into an integrated Technology Department.
  • Key responsibilities include establishing and ensuring the maintenance of AP IT and Technology standards across all parks and Head Office, particularly in terms of security and connectivity.
About You

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or engineering.
  • Have advanced degrees or certifications in technology management or business administration – or equivalent work experience.
  • Have 15 years of professional experience, with 5 years minimum in technology leadership roles.
  • possess a deep understanding of a broad range of technologies, including information systems, software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies relevant to the conservation sector.
  • Be able to develop and articulate a strategic vision, effectively manage projects, teams, and budgets, and drive organisational change.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Be able to thrive in a dynamic and resource-constrained environment.
  • Be fluent in English – spoken and written (Proficiency in French or Portuguese is an advantage).
  • Have a passion for conservation and Africa, its wildlife and its people.
