Responsibilities and Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To identify and manage shrinkage inventory risk areas through weekly and monthly accounting control procedures.
  2. Liaise with inventory contacts in brands and locations to obtain information and ensure accurate financial document processing.
  3. Determine exceptions and trends in shrinkage inventory risk areas after implementation of wall-to-wall and perpetual stock takes, and communicate these findings to the relevant stakeholders.
  4. Review shrinkage calculations performed by the inventory team on a weekly basis and provide summaries and analysis of the shrinkage figures.
  5. Manage the distribution of work between the shrinkage team and perform ad-hoc inventory functions as required.
  6. Deliver weekly shrinkage reports to the business in line with Service Level Agreements.

Requirements:

  1. Accounting I qualification at tertiary level (essential).
  2. A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in retail financial and administration roles.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Ongoing understanding of inventory/shrinkage related financial systems and controls at Head Office and Location Level.
  2. Proven exposure to financial systems pertaining to inventory.
  3. Advanced Excel skills (essential).
  4. Ability to work independently and liaise effectively with colleagues throughout the business.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage staff around specific deadlines.
