Job Title: UAV GCS Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled UAV GCS Instructor to join our team at Milkor Integrated Systems. As a UAV GCS Instructor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs on UAV Ground Control Stations (GCS), covering operational procedures, software interfaces, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructor Duties:
    • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for personnel on UAV GCS setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
    • Conduct hands-on training sessions to teach personnel about GCS operation, software interfaces, and communication protocols.
    • Develop and refine instructional materials, including manuals, presentations, and simulations, to facilitate effective learning.
  • Technician Duties:
    • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on UAV GCS hardware and software components.
    • Ensure that GCS systems are fully operational and meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and enhance GCS functionality.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and certification results.
    • Prepare detailed technical reports on GCS maintenance, repairs, and operational incidents.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during both training and GCS maintenance tasks.
    • Stay current with industry regulations and best practices related to UAV GCS operations and safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Diploma in Aviation, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years in UAV operations with specific expertise in Ground Control Stations.
  • In-depth understanding of UAV GCS hardware, software, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.
  • Previous experience in instructional roles or technical training preferred.
  • Certification in UAV operations and maintenance is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication skills; proficiency with simulation software and other training aids.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally; flexibility to adapt to evolving technology and training methods; familiarity with South African aviation regulations and compliance standards.
  • Own transport required.
