Purpose of the Role:

To ensure seamless operation of manufacturing plants by planning and coordinating all maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and Coordinate Maintenance: Schedule maintenance activities to optimize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  2. Meetings and Communication: Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  3. Spare Parts Management: Control and manage maintenance spare parts inventory to ensure timely availability.
  4. Store Management: Oversee maintenance store operations, including stock levels and inventory management.
  5. Supplier Liaison: Collaborate with maintenance suppliers to resolve breakdowns, obtain quotations, and conduct annual inspections.
  6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure equipment compliance with safety and legal requirements, including load certification, inspections, and load testing.
  7. Calibrations and Maintenance: Oversee equipment calibrations, including gas units and pressure vessels.
  8. Building Maintenance: Plan and coordinate building maintenance to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  9. Quality System: Ensure adherence to the maintenance quality system through certification compliance.
  10. Cross-Functional Support: Provide administrative support to cross-functional departments, including the Green Card System, shutdown planning, and procurement activities.
  11. Safety Audits: Plan and support organizational safety audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  12. Procurement Support: Assist the procurement department in securing competitive services for maintenance activities.
Requirements:

Qualifications: National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 6) or equivalent.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with advanced computer literacy and good communication skills.

Personal Qualities: Trustworthy, honest, and able to work in a pressured environment.
