The Mr. Price Group is seeking a skilled IT Project Manager to lead projects effectively.

  1. Collaborate with a dynamic team of Project Managers and Project Administrators to achieve project goals.
  2. Participate in the development of the PMO office, focusing on improving methodology and processes.
  3. Conduct daily stand-ups with the team to ensure plans are on track.
  4. Work with various team members, including developers, architects, and business analysts, to achieve project objectives.
  5. Review project plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  6. Communicate project expectations clearly and effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  7. Develop presentations for key engagements, such as project update meetings and steering committees.
  8. Establish project success criteria and disseminate them to relevant parties throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Conduct post-project reviews and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  10. Review commercial agreements with third-party vendors.
  11. Identify, manage, and escalate project risks and issues.
  12. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones, utilizing appropriate tools.
  13. Develop requests for proposals for new solutions.
  14. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  15. Determine the necessary resources and participants to achieve project goals, working with the Portfolio Manager.
  16. Develop and submit budget proposals, recommending subsequent budget changes as necessary.
  17. Negotiate with department managers to acquire required personnel from within the company.
  18. Assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make appropriate recruitments during the project cycle.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant business or IT degree.
  2. 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager role, with expertise in systems development and infrastructure.
  3. Project management certifications or demonstrable career development activities are highly valued.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience with:

  1. Infrastructure and networks.
  2. The systems development lifecycle, including methodologies such as waterfall and agile.
  3. Leading projects successfully, including budgeting, planning, quality management, problem-solving, reporting, and risk management.
  4. Project management principles and the ability to apply 'best practice' in all aspects of project management, with a focus on practical results rather than process.
  5. An approach to benefits delivery from strategy to realization.
  6. MS Project and Project Online.
  7. The retail sector and a broad understanding of traditional and new technologies used in retail and online environments.
