Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Support Specialist to join our team at Rubiconsa. As a key member of our technical services group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of exceptional customer service and support.

In this position, you will work closely with senior technical personnel to attend to day-to-day technical inquiries, assist with on-site visits, and provide support to sales consultants. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting faulty equipment, diagnosing warranty claims, and liaising with factories and suppliers on technical matters.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support to customers via electronic or telephonic means
  • Conducting on-site visits to assist with system commissioning, fault diagnosis, and issue resolution
  • Collaborating with senior support engineers on complex cases
  • Supporting sales consultants with technical inquiries related to our products and systems
  • Troubleshooting faulty equipment and diagnosing warranty claims
  • Liaising with factories and suppliers on technical matters
  • Creating technical documentation for new products
  • Attending designated supplier training
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least a Matric/NQF4 equivalent qualification, plus one or more of the following:
  • Electrical qualification or wireman's license
  • Technical support background and experience in electrical/power and critical reserve power environments
  • Relevant diploma or degree
  • Driver's license and own vehicle
