We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the V&A Waterfront. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and manage maintenance operations, ensuring the smooth running of our market.

About the Role:

This is a key position that requires a strong background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry concepts. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the market's facilities, planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, and responding to any concerns or breakdowns.

  • Manage and maintain the market's facilities, including performing routine checks and tasks related to various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and tiling.
  • Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the agreed timeframe.
  • Respond to any concerns or breakdowns, prioritizing urgent issues and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Supervise additional and temporary maintenance associates, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist Market Management in specifying proper supplies and equipment to stock, ensuring daily operations run smoothly.
  • Maintain the market's front-of-house and back-of-house areas in good repair, performing various tasks related to different trades.

Requirements:
  • A strong background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry concepts.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in and a general understanding of miscellaneous M&R processes, including painting, drywall, etc.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours) and respond to emergencies when not physically on site.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and vendors.
  • Able to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations and solve practical problems.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are essential, as is a high level of honesty and integrity.
