Job Title: Food Workshop Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Food Workshop Assistant to join our team at Wild Dreams Hospitality. As a key member of our workshop team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting Mechanics and Technicians: Provide support to our experienced mechanics and technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring that our equipment and machinery are in top working condition.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workshop area, adhering to health and safety standards and ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Tool and Equipment Preparation: Prepare tools, equipment, and materials needed for repairs, ensuring that everything is in good working order and easily accessible.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies, ordering replacements as necessary to avoid stockouts and minimize waste.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, identifying and reporting any issues or defects to the maintenance team.
  • Support to Workshop Staff: Provide general support to workshop staff as needed, including answering questions, providing guidance, and assisting with tasks.
Requirements:
  • Basic Mechanical Knowledge: Possess a good understanding of mechanical principles and practices, including safety procedures and protocols.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Possess a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and to a high standard.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Develop and implement effective solutions to problems and issues that arise in the workshop, working collaboratively with the maintenance team.
  • Experience and Physical Demands: Minimum two years of experience in a similar role, with good physical condition and strength, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: Fluency in Afrikaans is required.
