Job Title: Plant Millwright

At Sharon Nurock Recruitment CC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Millwright to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Process (Scheduled):
    • Plan and execute maintenance and repair work, interpreting instructions and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
    • Generate job requisitions for scheduled maintenance work and complete the permit to work prior to contractors commencing work on site.
    • Conduct Preventive Maintenance activities and record all Scheduled Maintenance to the Maintenance Connection system.
    • Perform change-overs in the production environment and participate in plant start-ups.
  • Maintenance Process (Breakdown):
    • Attend to machine breakdowns of a mechanical/electrical nature for all equipment under engineering functional control.
    • Record all breakdowns to the Maintenance Connection system to aid in determining the root cause and to accurately calculate KPI and Artisan utilisation data.
  • Electrical Maintenance:
    • Design and construct Single/Three Phase circuits and install Electrical Wire Ways.
    • Construct, commission, and do fault tracing on low voltage reticulation networks (220Vac, 110Vac, 24DC).
    • Install or replace and commission electrical equipment, wire and commission three-phase electrical circuits, and test and inspect a three-phase industrial/commercial installation.
    • Inspect, maintain, and replace all electrical equipment, fault-find and repair domestic appliances, single-phase alternating current (AC) systems, and three-phase voltage electrical circuits.
    • Disconnect and connect electric motors and joint low-voltage cables, and troubleshoot on Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Fabrication:
    • Mechanically cut, drill, punch, and assemble fabrication materials, cut materials using the oxy-fuel gas cutting process.
    • Weld workpieces (oxy-acetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding) and remove metals using oxy-fuel and air-carbon arc gouging processes.
  • Instrumentation Maintenance:
    • Construct Basic Electronic circuits, install Instrument impulse lines, maintain instrumentation equipment, and carry out soldering and de-soldering procedures.
  • Maintenance Process (Post Maintenance):
    • Test and commission machinery or equipment prior to handover and complete the Planned Maintenance Schedule-Maintenance connection.
  • Engineering Projects - Project Initiation:
    • Contribute to project initiation, scope definition, and scope change control and work as a valuable team member.
    • Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget for a project or subproject and monitor and control actual cost against budget.
  • Project planning, project management, and project administration.
  • Participate in continuous improvement drives.
