Job Title: Driver Trainer

At Boardroom Appointments, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Trainer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of new and existing drivers to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions on soft skills and lifting equipment, adhering to scheduled timelines.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to training schedules for both soft skills and lifting equipment with managers.
  • Train and assess drivers on DTA facilitated and accredited courses through theoretical and practical training.
  • Provide coaching sessions to improve driver competency and conduct driver-on-route assessments.
  • Verify that driver's licenses and PrDPs are up-to-date and valid.
  • Maintain accurate attendance registers and driver files on the learner management system.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders on driver assessments and capture data on internal systems.
  • Facilitate training interventions linked to TETA Scope and assess learners fairly and consistently.
  • Conduct site audits and route inspections to ensure vehicles meet standards and assist with vehicle dispatching.
  • Assist with operational functions as required and complete accredited training material according to TETA regulations.
  • Moderate internal assessments and maintain professional conduct.
  • Ensure adherence to company dress code and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain Health and Safety standards and capture and share training done with the DTA training administrator.
  • Report concerns and risks to the DTA manager and maintain up-to-date accreditation for Assessors and Moderators.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Code EC driver's license with a valid PDP.
  • Proven experience as a driving instructor.
  • Clear driving record.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Operating rigid light vehicle unit standard.
  • Dangerous goods unit standard.
  • Warehouse lifting equipment unit standard.
  • Firefighting unit standard.
