We are seeking a highly skilled C31 Overhead Crane Operator to join our team at Pro Tem. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating the overhead crane effectively and safely, ensuring the productivity and efficiency of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Overhead Crane: Safely and efficiently operate the overhead crane to move materials and equipment within the department.
  • Ensure Safety Protocols: Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations, and ensure the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized at all times.
  • Manage Scrap and Debris: Handle and feed scrap to the furnace floor and vibrio feeder, and ensure the clean-up of leftover scrap and debris.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate all necessary requirements between Melter and First-hand operator, and report all breakdowns to the Maintenance department and Management immediately.
  • Operate Heavy-Duty Machines: Safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty machines using the cranes, and ensure the erection, removal, and fitting of these machines within the Furnace and CCM Departments.
  • Control Liquid Steel: Control and effectively handle high-temperature liquid steel in ladle from Furnace to CCM with precise operational ability and control.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in operating overhead cranes in a heavy industry setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Exposure to Heat: Exposure to heat and other environmental factors.
  • Exposure to Confined Space: Exposure to confined spaces, including the crane cabin.
