Job Title: Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer to join our team at The Globevest Group. As an Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and costing electrical projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and cost electrical projects, including drafting and detailing electrical systems
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, and budgets for electrical projects
  • Track changes to project designs and adjust budget projections accordingly
  • Measure and value work done on site
  • Liaise with clients, site managers, project managers, and site engineers
  • Select and source project materials
  • Write reports and provide technical instructions
  • Undertake research and advise on alternatives
  • Analyse and interpret data to inform costing decisions
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Professional certification as a listed Electrical Engineer (ECSA)
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Able to do HVAC design from first principles
  • Construction estimating or Finance experience advantageous
  • Exceptional in AutoCAD Rivet
  • Thorough knowledge of all Electrical practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools
  • Able to read designs and produce and prepare draft designs in accordance with required specifications
  • Good communication skills: Fluent in English
  • Ability to provide verbal and/or written technical instructions
  • Methodical way of thinking
  • Good knowledge of projects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good financial and numeracy management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Computer literate, good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
