About the Job

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within the construction industry and a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices. They will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets, supporting the purchasing function and other relevant departments, communicating any supply problems which may impact business operations, preparing reports and updates as and when required, assisting with estimating as part of the tendering process, negotiating contracts, improving prices and terms of business with suppliers, reviewing opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods locally and internationally, preparing and raising purchase orders and order schedules, building, maintaining, and managing supplier relationships, conducting research for new components and suppliers, contacting suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues, and analyzing building plans.

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to analyze building plans and identify procurement opportunities
