Job Description

WSP Africa is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure and Design Division within the Mine Engineering Business Unit.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong technical background in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure development and project design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop infrastructure projects, including open channel flow hydraulics, storm water designs, and earthworks modeling.
  • Undertake planning, engineering design work, and supervision of construction as required and directed by project leaders or engineers.
  • Prepare cost estimates and ensure all designs and drawings are properly documented and checked.
  • Conduct construction administration and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
  • Liaise with other staff working on projects at all levels and assist with contract administration.
  • Compile letters, reports, and prepare tender documentation.
  • Provide service excellence and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the sector.
Requirements:
  • BEng/BSc/BTech - Civil Engineer Degree
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in civil design engineering
  • Professionally registered as a civil engineer
  • Experience with Civil 3D and Civil Designer software
  • AutoCAD experience is beneficial
  • At least 6 years' experience with storm water design
  • PC SWWM, GoldSim, HEC RAS simulation software is an advantage
  • MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Projects
