Export Logistics Coordinator Role

This Export Logistics Coordinator position involves overseeing the coordination of our exports and imports logistics operations across Africa. As part of our team at Syndicate Personnel Specialists, you will contribute to the success of our client's business by efficiently managing their supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Exports Logistics Lead in developing and implementing best practices and standards for exports and imports logistics operations.
  • Create and maintain accurate reports to provide real-time shipment visibility, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Offer guidance and support to Business Unit teams on shipping-related matters, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Organize regular operational meetings to facilitate communication among teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Unit teams and shipping lines to forecast and optimize regional and sea freight movements, manage bookings, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Keep Customers and Sales teams informed about delivery status for key routes requiring consolidation, serving as a liaison for service-related queries.
  • Analyze export data to identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce Total Cost of Logistics (TCOL) and enhance logistics efficiency.
  • Work with Business Unit teams to ensure KPI tracking is updated in each country.
  • Share consolidated export KPIs with Business Unit teams to facilitate proactive issue resolution and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate new contracts, routes, and markets for optimal logistical arrangements, gathering insights, and conducting trials to guarantee smooth execution and accurate cost calculation.
  • Participate in regular Service Level Agreement reviews with shipping lines, warehousing partners, and service providers.
  • Maintain service levels and rates in alignment with contractual obligations.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Diploma or degree in Logistics/Supply Chain.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Exports distribution in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead from start to implementation.
  • Understanding of inter-country and cross-border requirements, including INCO terms.
  • Experience in ocean and road freight exports and imports project management.
  • Africa-focused customer orientation.
  • Flexibility to travel across Africa for operations.
