About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Saint-Gobain as a Technical Sales Consultant, specializing in waterproofing solutions. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and service a designated territory and customer portfolio, achieving sales targets and growth expectations.
  • Implement sales strategies for the territory and sales channels, as agreed with the Sales Manager.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities and identify new needs and wants in the market.
  • Ensure a.b.e.-Weber pricing strategy is followed and profitability targets are met.
  • Drive a.b.e.-Weber specifications with influencers, such as architects, engineers, and QS.
  • Compile and submit monthly/quarterly sales reports and volume forecasts, advising the Sales Manager of changing market conditions.
  • Regularly report market information, including customer, competitor, economic, and credit information.
  • Submit timely sales reports, including customer visit reports and weekly call planning schedules.
  • Protect and maintain market share in the respective segment.
  • Maintain good and effective internal and external communication.
  • Facilitate customer product quality complaints and backup services.
  • Maintain and safeguard company property and confidentiality.
  • Participate in stock takes when necessary.
  • Accurately forecast products to minimize working capital requirements.
  • Maintain all systems and procedures, including awareness of customer credit status.
  • Adhere to laid-down levels of expenditure.
  • Maintain approved company policies.
  • Adhere to company Safety Standards.
  • Participate in regular local sales meetings to foster good internal relations, teamwork, and performance excellence.
  • Improve company image by networking and attending applicable functions and technical seminars.
  • Set high standards of performance by observing correct attitude and behavior.
  • Contribute positively to the a.b.e.-Weber culture with total customer orientation as a key performance area.

Requirements

  • Matric with Maths and Science.
  • Recognized business qualification, e.g., Sales and Marketing Diploma.
  • 5 years of experience in construction, specifically waterproofing, technical selling, and site management.
  • Professional selling and negotiation skills experience.
  • Key accounts management experience.
  • Credit control management facilitation.
  • Computer literacy (SAP and MS Office) and data analysis experience essential.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (an added advantage).
  • Teamwork is essential due to remoteness of the team.
  • Good planning and organizational skills to manage workloads effectively.
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (internally and externally).
  • Sound administrative and organizational skills.
  • Initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Valid driver's license.
