The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and management skills, with the ability to operate a profitable clinic within the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and operating the clinic, ensuring that all services are available to patients, and maintaining accurate records of patient details. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including patients, colleagues, and medical aids.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Grade 12 – Matric qualification
  2. Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
  3. Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
  4. Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  5. Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
  6. 2-3 years' experience in practicing as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
  7. Computer skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Advantageous:

  1. Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
  2. Patient Record System & CKS & Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage clinic operations according to industry regulations and best practices.
  2. Ensure effective patient care and service delivery.
  3. Maintain accurate patient records and communicate with stakeholders.
  4. Process claims accurately and timeously.
  5. Ensure clinic stock and equipment are in good condition.

Competencies:

Essential:

  1. Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care and/or occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, wound care.
  2. Quarterly CPD training; in-service training with Dis-Chem.
  3. Strong command of English (written and oral).
  4. Understand financial implications of meeting or not meeting set targets.
  5. Strong analytical skills relating to clinic statistics and commission.
  6. Emotional intelligence; entrepreneurial flair; trustworthy and honest.
  7. Ability to manage team and self; be self-directed and self-motivated.
  8. Time management.

Special conditions of employment:

  1. Willing and able to work retail hours.
  2. Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic.
  3. Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
  4. South African citizen.
  5. Clear credit and criminal records.
